L-arginine and NO2 (Nitric Oxide) - Open the door and watch the changes begin!

Picture a stream of water that has been obstructed by falling trees and debris. The water behind the obstruction stagnates and swirls and has no definite direction. Now clear the obstruction and watch the water flow. The water now flows efficiently downstream to its intended destination. Hopefully this gives you a good visual as to the role L-Arginine plays in your body. It is a very effective tool to help open blood vessels and help nutrients reach their intended destination. Let’s take a look at the many benefits Arginine has to offer and its relationship with Nitric Oxide.

Arginine is an amino acid that the body is incapable of producing naturally. Therefore we must seek out quality food sources such as seeds and nuts that are high in this sought after amino acid. Obviously the most efficient way to insure we are getting the amount we want is through a proper supplementation program There are many functions and processes in the human body that depend on Arginine. One of the most beneficial to bodybuilders is that it helps increase growth hormone output, need I go on!!! It also helps detox the body, acts as a anti inflammatory agent, helps lower blood pressure, works as a immune system stimulator, helps remove (LDL’s- bad cholesterol). It also enhances fat metabolism, acts as a very efficient anti oxidant and last but far from least it participates in protein synthesis. How can one semi essential amino acid be capable of doing all this? The answer lies in its relationship to NO2 - Nitric Oxide.

Arginine is known to produce nitric oxide, a free form gas which happens to be a vasodilator, meaning it opens up your blood vessels. Go back to my opening paragraph that described the stream of water. Picture all those supplements you are taking and imagine how much more efficiently they would all be allowed to work if the blood vessels they use as transportation routes are larger and free flowing. NO boosters are flooding the market with good reason, they work! Arginine’s role in producing nitric oxide which in turn, allows the nutrients to flow, is what makes it a must have in your supplement arsenal. You should look at Arginine as a supplement support system that helps insure the effectiveness of all the other essential nutrients you are taking in your quest to perfect your physique.

This is a simplified overview of what Arginine is and how Arginine works. Because of its popularity an abundance of scientific research has been performed over the last ten years. It all points to the effectiveness of Arginine as a helpful body building tool to increase strength, stimulate protein synthesis, reduce fat storage and boost your immune system.
The recommended dose typically found in most NO booster formulas is 3000 mg of Arginine three times daily.

Yeah I love this site and the workout vids are excellent. When I used them for the first time I knew it was ripping me apart, just great stuff. I keep checking up to see some good abdominal workout because that is one of my main concerns triying to ripp up. Show some exercise tips for that. Keep up the great work!

Mr. Ferencsik,
I am always looking for new ways to build my body. I have been bodybuilding since I was 15, I’m 41 now I am still nowhere close to your ripped physique at 44. I just wanted to say that this web site is great. Everything about it is awsome, Especially the section on meeting Frank Zane. I was one of the diehard arnold fans, but when I really kinda studied the ectomorph type body of Frank, I ‘m fascinated still!!!!!! The accomplishments that he has made is phenominal. From that day on I am a fan of Frank Zane. Well back to your web site, keep up the excellent work of informing people on exercises and diet, for natural bodybuilding.
thank you!

i saw a video in youtube and so i thought” let’s go check out that page”
so i got here and read: “natural bodybuilding-it’s all about your diet”
then i saw something called: “supplements”, so how much of your website is natural, eh? man, i’m so disappointed in today’s bodybuilder, nobody can live without supplements, it’s so sad…

If you are trying to live without supplementing your diet body builder or not you are not possibly living the highest quailty life that you can. In this day and age even if you are to eat everything organic you cannot possibly obtain the nutrients you need through reqular food intake. Dont get so hung up on semantics all my supplemnets are from natural food sources. Hats off to you if you are one of the few who can thrive without supplements. Hopefully your diet is as clean as the one I suggest . This web-site is all about natural DRUG FREE body building dont cloud the issue by comparing drugs to natural food supplements. Best of luck to you in the future in think you will need it!

Hi Micheal,

I was just co-researching an article to learn more about Nitric Oxide, at the moment I am only taking one Multi-vitamin with Omega 3&6 reccomended by the local store clerk.

I’m quite nervous about taking anything that effects blood-pressure or adds any negative side effects, but from your post… it seems that this is a natural supplement for bodybuilders, is there any negative side effects you could inform me about?

Thanks
-Gus

From what I have read over the years arginine does effect your bloodd pressure by lowering it. If low blood pressure is an issue I would check with your Doctor first. If not it is a very benificial supplement as I said.

hi michael,

what’s the difference of using nitric oxide and creatine?

tks.

Michael Ferencsik

By reading my above article on Arginine you now know what benifits it has in store for you. As for creatine look for more energy when trying to complete a set and depending on the type of creatine you use a certain degree of cell volumazation can be expected. Also an increase in strength can be expected as well.I will be posting an article this month on Creatine. Look for it and all the details

Hey Michael,

I am a teen bodybuilder who is looking for supplements that will not damage my health. Are there any supplements that you recommend? Thank you.

Also, what brand of arganine do you recommend? Thank you

Kyle: For someone your age I always suggest that you keep it simple. Stick to a clean healthy eating program. Fresh vegitables , lean meats and quality complex carbs and lots of water. As far as supplements go the only thing I would strongly reccommned is isolate protein powders and amino acids , like arginine. Keep up the good work and put the effort into eating a clean diet and it will pay off.

Michael Ferencsik

Nick: Your not doing anything wrong that’s just good old mother nature reminding us that no one is perfect. I have written an e-book on proper weight training techniques. I know it will really help you balance out your physique. go to musclemaximization.com for the details.

Domi

Hi Michael, I’m 26, I bought your e-book and it’s fantastic. I’m training at the gym with the typical exercises for 3 months now and with a healthy and clean diet. Now with the book I have a well planned training. I already see the result in definition but I would like a bit more mass. Do you recomend me to wait until I work more and hard on multi join exercises and see what happens or try to suplement with some protein, bcaa, creatine & glutamine as basic.
Thanks.
Kind regards.

Michael Ferencsik

Domi: If your training hard it’s time to start supplementing your diet to take full advantage of all that hard work your putting in. The basics that you mentioned are a great start. Isolate Protein powder ,BCAA, Creatine in the form of Kre Alkaline and Glutamine all play a vital role in your recovery and performance. Arginine and ZMA might be something you would want to try as well.Give it a try and let me know how it’s going.
